New women's group to make its debut at JPMA Summit

A new women's networking group is making its debut at the Juvenile Products Manufacturers' Assn. Summit next month with a tea, meet-and-greet, and introduction to the group's mission.

Organizers of the group said its mission is to offer mentoring, educational programs and networking opportunities to women in the juvenile products industry.

"JPMA is enthusiastic about this new Special Interest Group," said Amy Chezem, communications director for JPMA and a founding member of the women's group. "This is a great way to get top female professionals in the industry more involved and continue to help them do their business better."

Other founding members include Brenda Berg, president of Scandinavian Child; Jill Cartwright, executive director of Brixy; Karen Casson, vice president of sales, Halo Innovations; Jane Kitchen, editor of Kids Today; Kelly Mariotti, executive director of First Candle; Deb Mignucci, vice president, publisher of Fit Pregnancy; Lauren Pfeiffer, assistant director of JPMA; and Luanne Lager, vice president of Regal Lager.

The group is open to women at various stages of careers and in all areas relating to the juvenile products industry - manufacturers, retailers, representatives, etc.

Organizers are planning to unveil a name and logo for the group at the Summit tea, scheduled for Feb. 4, and they are also planning additional activities for the ABC Spring Conference in May and the ABC Expo in October.

The JPMA Summit is set for Feb. 4-6 at the Westin Georgetown in Washington.
