ABC Kids Expo marks near-record growth

The ABC Kids Expo made its return to Las Vegas after two years in Louisville with increased space and near-record attendance.
The show occupied approximately one million-square-feet of exhibitor space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, an increase of more than 300,000-square-feet over last year. Attendance also was up this year, according to All Baby & Child Corporation President Larry Schur, with more than 14,000 attendees, an increase of nearly 40% over 2012, and the second-largest attendance in show history. The expo welcomed 300 new exhibitors this year, with nearly 1,100 exhibitors and more than 3,500 booths. Nearly 6,000 buyers were in attendance, representing more than 2,400 stores.
"Retailers from 61 countries participated in this year's show, a record number of international visitors for us," said Schur. "It's exciting to see such overwhelming exhibitor and attendee participation year after year. We deeply appreciate every one of them."
In addition to international retailers, the show also debuted two new international pavilions, introducing new products from the UK and China.
The show also featured a JP W.O.M.E.N. opening breakfast reception, a presentation on product testing by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPS C) and an industry reception at the Las Vegas Hotel.
The ABC Expo's parent company also continued its tradition of charitable giving, donating $75,000 to Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), $25,000 to First Candle and $25,000 to Cribs for Kids.
"We are very thankful to the manufacturers of the juvenile products community for making these generous contributions and a dream come true for children and families of children in need," said Schur.
Next year, the ABC Expo stays in Vegas, but moves up a month to Sept. 7-10, 2014.
