Mutsy USA recalls Evo stroller over strangulation concerns
Kids Today Staff -- Kids Today, February 11, 2013
Musty USA is recalling the Evo stroller because of concerns that unharnessed children in the stroller can slip down and strangle between the seat and grab bar.
Mutsy USA is offering a free replacement seat and grab bar for the recalled Evo stroller.
The opening between the grab bar and the stroller seat bottom can allow an unharnessed infant's body to slip through and become trapped at the neck. No injuries have been reported.
The recall involves about 340 strollers sold between April 2012 and December 2012 at juvenile stores and online, including amazon.com, at a retail of about $400. The strollers were made between February 2012 and November 2012 and have these model numbers: MT12-03, MT12-11, MT12-14, MT12-31, MT12-34, MT12-37, MT12-39, MT12-42, MT12-43 and MT12-48. The model number and date is located under the stroller seat on a white sticker. The strollers have black or silver frames with brown, navy, black or white seats.
Consumers are asked to stop using the stroller and contact Mutsy USA for a free replacement seat unit and grab bar. The company can be reached at (877) 546-9230, via email at email@example.com or at www.mutsy.com.
