High Point - Opus Designs by Hooker is debuting the Abby collection at Market here, which includes a unique daybed with slipcover options, coordinated in conjunction with Hooker's sister upholstery company, Sam Moore.

The Abby collection includes 30 pieces and three beds, a sleigh bed, poster bed and upholstered day bed. Made of rubberwood solids and white oak veneers, the group has a vintage shabby chic look with a sophisticated finish and simple wooden knobs.

But the daybed, available in both twin and full, is the star of the program. It comes standard with a neutral fabric, but is also available in 14 fabrics from Sam Moore that can be purchased directly from Hooker.

"We're very excited to be able to tie in with one of our other companies and use what their strength is," said Cindy Hall, senior product manager for Hooker.

Hall said the fabrics are a variety of neutrals and cute, very fresh prints in three different color palettes that are all coordinated.

Customers will be able to order both the slipcover and cut yardage for making custom bedding, pillows or draperies. Additionally, customers are able to send in their own custom fabric to have it made into a slipcover.

"The really neat part about it is it doesn't look slipcovered," said Hall. "It looks upholstered - you get that tailored look."

Hall said she showed the daybed at Premarket and explained the concept of the additional options, but Market will be the first time retailers can see what the custom fabric options will look like.

"Everyone at Premarket loved the concept," she said.

Retail price for the daybed with standard fabric is between $699 and $799; custom fabric slipcovers will be $199.
