Columbus, Ga.-based Baby’s Dream Furniture suffered a second fire in its Chilean factory during the weekend of January 21. The factory was the scene of a similar incident in October; fortunately there were no injuries in either fire since they happened after hours. The factory is primarily a paint and finishing plant that worked on Baby’s Dream components.
Baby’s Dream is working hard to recover from the situation as quickly as possible.
“Our focus is on getting products to our Baby’s Dream retailers,” said Ross Felfeli, CEO/President of Baby’s Dream. “All Baby’s Dream retailers have been contacted and should know that they are our top interest during this situation.”
Baby’s Dream Furniture’s Buena Vista, Ga. plant will now become the main hub for all finishing needs. The plan now is to ship all components to this location, finish goods there and resume normal production. Operations and manpower are immediately being increased to accommodate the demand.
Kelly Kuch, marketing executive for the company said that Baby’s Dream is working with surrounding factories and though it does still have some ties to Chile it is looking to broaden its manufacturing base.
Baby’s Dream’s plans for product debuts will continue as scheduled since these products are being manufactured in other countries. Retailers can expect to see previews with the next few months.
We would love your feedback!
