Full of hope
Editors Letter

The start of a new year always seems to bring with it hope, even if the outgoing year was a good one. And, when the outgoing year wasn’t the best, it’s easy to get mired down with negative thoughts, and once down there, it can be hard to pull ourselves back up. But we must. We must have hope for bright spots in 2009.
Dale Carnegie said, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” I couldn’t agree more.
This issue you hold in your hands might seem a bit smaller than normal, and it is. We’ve still been working hard, gathering news stories, working on feature articles, blogging and looking for the best and brightest new products out there; however, we’re publishing more and more content on the Web. It’s immediate. It allows us to post news stories as they’re happening. It allows us to offer products and stories we might not have space for in the print issue.
One of the online exclusives this year will be our registry of sources that accompanies our buyer’s guides. You’ll still get the business story and product shots here, but the complete listing of companies can be found at www.kidstodayonline.com. You’ll find more news online as well. We post stories daily and several of those are included on our weekly e-newsletter; you can sign up for your free copy online.
Our hope is to bring you as much relevant content as possible between the print and online versions of Kids Today. Our goal is that somewhere between the pages you’ll find a great idea to help better your business or a new customer or a new product that boosts your sales. Our goals for 2009 are that we each find bright spots and successes and hope.
Happy New Year!
