Store owners, April and Ken Goore, show off Young America's inaugural Made in the USA crib, which has been signed by the manufacturer's workers at its Robbinsville, N.C. plant. The crib will be on display at Goore's until another Young America Signature Shop opens, at which time it will be shipped to that location.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The largest independent baby and children’s specialty store on the West Coast, Goore’s for Babies to Teens, is celebrating the opening of the second phase of its Young America Signature Shop.

Conveniently located within the store’s existing footprint, the expansion of this unique store-within-a-store concept continues to focus on providing consumers with a thorough and meaningful Young America shopping experience.

In 2006, Goore’s became one of the first infant and youth retailers to outfit its existing location with a Young America Signature Shop. Owners Ken and April Goore proudly dedicated 1,800 square feet of floor space to feature expertly-designed vignettes exclusive to Young America. For Goore’s, this gallery-like setting succeeded in displaying Young America’s best selling styles in the most consumer friendly conditions.

“We have been extremely pleased with the success of our Young America Signature Shop,” said Ken Goore. “But like all retail-savvy businesses, we are focused on continuous improvement. That’s why we decided to implement a Phase 2 of our Young America Signature Shop.”

According to Goore, this renovation is an addendum to the original Shop concept.

“After Young America introduced the next generation of the brand, we became convinced that there were additional selling opportunities in the infant category that we had yet to realize. Phase 2 includes a build-out of the existing space with a focus on cribs as an integral part of our store’s and Young America’s story.”

The new generation of Young America is backed by a lasting to promise to its consumers to be “the brand you can trust.” This promise consists of four fundamental components – choice, safety, green and quality – each supported by the fact that all of Young America’s products are now made in the USA.

To further support this promise, Goore’s new Young America Signature Shop will be the first to display the company’s inaugural Made in the U.S.A. crib.

“The crib has been signed by all of the members of our Robbinsville, N.C. facility that help make the new Young America a reality,” said Kevin Walker, vice president of product development.

He said Goore’s will have the opportunity to display the “signature” crib in its Young America Signature Shop until a new Shop is scheduled to open. At that point the crib will be repackaged in the company’s new quality-conscious, environmentally-friendly packaging and shipped to the next Young America Signature Shop grand opening.

“Made in the U.S.A. is the backbone of Young America’s brand promise,” Glen Prillaman, Stanley Furniture Company’s president and CEO. “To demonstrate the significance of this, we wanted to incorporate something meaningful into the Young America Signature Shop experience that consumers could relate to as well. It’s a traveling road show, of sorts, and we’re proud to share the first stop along the way with our partners at Goore’s.”

Phase 2 of Goore’s Young America Signature Shop, which is dedicated to displaying Young America’s new Made in the U.S.A., Greenguard certified cribs, is scheduled to be unveiled on March 1.

Goore’s for Babies to Teens, Inc. is a family owned business that is operated by Ken, April and Richard Goore. Founded in 1992, Goore’s began as a 2,000 square foot boutique store offering primarily furniture and bedding and flourishing into a 32,000 square foot baby and children’s superstore.
