  • Mattel, of El Segundo, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 9 million toys because of magnet concerns. The magnets can be found by young children and swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage, which can be fatal. The toys included in the recall are about 7.3 million various Polly Pocket dolls and accessories, 1 million Doggie Day Care play sets, 683,000 Barbie and Tanner play sets and 345,000 Batman and One Piece magnetic action figure sets.

  • Stokke, of Kennesaw, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 Sleepi crib foam mattresses. The crib mattresses are not properly sized, creating a gap, posing an entrapment hazard to young children.

  • St. Martin's Press, LLC, of New York, is voluntarily recalling about 35,000 Priddy "Trucks" shaker teether books. Small pieces of the teether can break off, posing a choking hazard to young children.

July

  • Dara Linda's Baby Bling and Jewelry Design, of Davie, Fla.; Bling Toes, of Cherry Valley, Ill.; Baby Bling Things, of Appleton, Wis.; PeaNaPod Bling and Accessories, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and MJM Crystal Designs, of Boca Raton, Fla., are voluntarily recalling about 1,000 pacifiers. These pacifiers fail to meet federal safety standards for pacifiers. The pacifiers' crystals can separate easily, posing an aspiration and ingestion hazard to young children.

  • Easy-Bake, a division of Hasbro of Pawtucket, R.I., is voluntarily recalling about 1 million Easy-Bake Ovens. Young children can insert their hands into the oven's front opening, and get their hands or fingers caught, posing entrapment and burn hazards.

  • Kipp Brothers, of Carmel, Ind., is voluntarily recalling about 800 Mag Stix magnetic building sets. Small magnets inside the plastic sticks can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage.

  • Infantino LLC, of San Diego, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 68,000 Shape Sorting toy castles. The plastic rod can come loose, allowing the colored counting beads to slide off of the toy, posing a choking hazard to young children.

June

  • Personal Creations, of Lemont, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 5,500 Red Baby Long Johns. The metal snaps on the long johns can loosen and detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
