Baby Einstein expands product mix

New York — The Baby Einstein Co. continued its march into the world of licensed products with a new line of baby items and accessories, unveiled here at Toy Fair last month.

New products in the line include diaper bags, a feeding line, a bath and skin care line, and additional gear items, including a pack 'n play, swing and musical rocker.

The line of diaper bags, produced by New York-based Cudlie Accessories, includes six different styles in various colors and animal themes, and features Baby Einstein characters. Each diaper bag comes with a coordinating Baby Einstein CD case and changing pad. Retail prices will be between $30 and $40, and the line will be available this spring.

The Baby Einstein Splash & Discover Bath and Skin Care line, produced by Solar Cosmetic Labs, includes tear-free 2-in-1 body and hair wash, shampoo, lotion, body wash and sunblock. Retail price points range from $3.79 to $4.49, and the items will also be available this spring.

Also new at Toy Fair was the Baby Einstein Discover Pack 'n Play, featuring Baby Bach and Baby Vivaldi characters and an electronic activity panel that plays Baby Einstein melodies; the Discover & Play Infant Swing, which introduces babies to animal names and sounds and features a variety of lullabies; and the Discovering Water Rocker Seat, with three ocean hanging toys, an activity octopus and eight different melodies. The Discovering Water Rocker Seat also features new technology that allows parents to plug in an iPod or other MP3 device to play their favorite lullabies.
