The International Contemporary Furniture Fair, May 19-22, in New York features more than a dozen companies bowing juvenile products. A few, like Dwell, Ducduc and Nurseryworks, expanded their nursery lines to include looks for youth for the first time. Many companies also are working with eco-friendly materials, a growing trend throughout the home furnishings industry.

Developed to accommodate younger children, the Fatboy junior brings the comfort, style and fun of the Fatboy original in a smaller package. The 40" — 50" seat comes in turquoise, lime green, orange, red, hot pink and black and it has a coated nylon cover and polystyrene beads, $149.

Ducduc expands into youth with 14 new designs including Alex, Austin, Morgan and Cabana (shown). All pieces are available in HAP-free paint fiishes and sustainable harvested hardwoods. Cabana includes a night stand and cabinet, shown in orange and white, as well as a crib, twin and full beds, armoire, desk and chair, lounge chair and dresser.

Fun Quilts' Many Hands Blankies, $75, are made in small batches by developmentally disabled adults at CARC, an organization that provides training and jobs to special needs adults in Chicago. The reversible 30— 40 blankies are made from 100% cotton flannel and are available in two colorways for each of the patterns shown: A Herd of Elephants, A Troop of Chimpanzees and A Pod of Dolphins.

P'kolino's Silly seating is a combination of stuffed toy and modular toddler seating with multiple features. The seats come in four characters, like Kiko, shown, and have three soft, lightweight pieces that can be configured in a variety of ways.

Celery's Lullaboo line has a crib, cradle, changing table and more made from eco-friendly materials available in blonde or carbonized bamboo and/or painted in celery, pink, blue or cotton colors. The rocking cradle in bamboo and celery retails for $590.

Offi debuts the ovum bassinet, designed by Heidi Newell, $699-$799. It has stationary and rocking positions and is crafted from formed plywood and solid wood. Ovum is available in stained or natural birch finishes.

Merida Meridian's Viewpoint Kids floor covering designs were inspired by children's drawings. The bright palette is designed and woven using 100% New Zealand wool. Viewpoint Kids includes 72 items--16 designs in multiple colorways--and they're available as custom and standard sized area rugs.

Dwell debuts its dwellkids bedding line using the same colors and patterns as those found on its successful dwellbaby line. The set includes duvet, sham, flat sheet, fitted sheet and pillowcases for twin/full beds. Twin sets retail for $320, full for $352.
