Graco issues notification about label

Gear manufacturer Graco has issued a safety notification concerning incorrect contact information printed on a label attached to certain CarGo booster seats. The notification does not concern the safety or function of the booster seat, the company said in a news release.
The label on about 121,000 CarGo seats has the incorrect hotline number for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The correct number is (888) 327-4236. The correct phone number is printed in the booster seat owner’s manual. The label is affixed to the back of the CarGo, and the affected seats were sold between January 2007 and March 2008 for $99.99.
Graco is sending a replacement kit to all registered owners. The kit includes a label with the correct NHTSA phone number and directions for applying it to the seat. Consumers who did not register their seats can call Graco at (800) 345-4109 or visit www.gracobaby.com to determine if their booster seat is involved. Consumers will need the seat’s model number and date of manufacture, which can be found on the lower back of the seat.
