TIA elects 5 directors
Will serve two-year term

PHOENIX—The Toy Industry Association has elected five new members to its board of directors.
“We are honored to have such a distinguished team of industry executives sitting as the volunteer leaders of our association,” said Carter Keithley, TIA president. “We welcome the new members of the board and look forward to their contributions to the development of the association’s policies and initiatives.”
The new board members are: Joel Berger, president of Cardinal Industries; Leigh Ann Brodsky, executive vice president of consumer products for Nickelodeon Consumer Products; John Gessert, president and CEO of American Plastic Toys; Peter Henseler, president of Learning Curve Brands; and Jeffrey Katz, president, CEO and chairman of LeapFrog Enterprises. Their terms run from May 2009 to May 2011.
Current Board member Jim Engle, president of Little Kids, joins the executive committee as secretary-treasurer; he will serve a one-year term that will expire in May 2010. He replaces Lego’s Soren Torp Laursen, whose term at the post expired this week.
Al Verrecchia, chairman of Hasbro, will continue as the TIA board’s chairman through May 2010. Continuing members of the executive committee are: Vice Chairman and TIA Chairman-elect Bryan Stockton of Mattel; Faber-Castell USA/Creativity For Kids’ Jamie Gallagher; and Pressman Toy’s James Pressman.
Board members who will continue their current terms include: Acorn Management Group’s Jay Foreman; Hasbro’s Brian Goldner; iToys’ George Irwin; Radio Flyer’s Robert Pasin; former Manhattan Toy executive Arete Passas; Spin Master’s Anton Rabie; and Learning Resources’ Etienne Veber.
