Regal + Lager picks up distribution of Phil & Ted

KENNESAW, Ga. — Regal + Lager is the new distributor for New Zealand-based Phil & Ted's Most Excellent Buggy Co., and will show the products at the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Assn. trade show in Orlando this month. Phil & Ted's has previously distributed in the United States on its own with the e-3 stroller. In addition to the e-3, Regal + Lager is bringing over several new Phil & Ted's products, including two backpack carrier models and a travel cot. Luanne Whiting-Lager, vice president of Regal + Lager, said she is very excited about the new line. "It is most excellent to be chosen by Phil & Ted's to represent them in the U.S.," she said. Regal + Lager will warehouse and ship the products from its Kennesaw, Ga., facility, with shipping beginning at the end of June. The e-3 stroller is a three-wheeled stroller that can fit two children in the footprint of a regular stroller. The stroller, which retails for $349, features a full-recline newborn position, and with a $79 kit, can fit a baby and toddler or two toddlers as a family grows. Regal + Lager will also distribute the full line of accessories for the stroller, including rain covers, bug covers and extra bags. The two backpack carriers are the Metro and the Escape. The Metro is a basic backpack carrier, with a retail price around $119, while the Escape, retailing around $149, is geared toward outdoorsy parents on the go. The Metro features an adjustable harness, large cargo zip pocket and mesh side pocket. A storm and sun cover is also available. The Escape comes with a big sun cover, child's daypack, removable dribble cloth and toy loop, foot stirrups and two bottle holders. Both backpacks fold flat and are equipped with the Duo Airback, which adjusts to parents' different heights. The backpacks are available in red, navy blue and charcoal. Also new in the Phil & Ted's line is the T-2, a lightweight travel cot that features UV sun/bug mesh for use outdoors. It includes a self-inflating mattress and is available in blue, charcoal and red. The T-2 folds down into a carry bag and is put together with lightweight aluminum poles, so it weighs only six pounds. It can be used as a travel crib or play yard on most surfaces, including sand, lawn, stones, carpetor wooden floors. The retail price is around $149. |
