Youth pops at Asian shows

The 2010 Malaysian Furniture Fair was held from March 2-6 in Kuala Lumpur.

The 2010 Malaysian Furniture Fair was held from March 2-6 in Kuala Lumpur. The show featured 500 exhibitors showcasing product in about 800,000 square feet of space spread out over three venues, including the Putra World Trade Center, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center and the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Center. The show typically attracts about 19,000 visitors, including more than 6,800 from 137 countries.

The International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show 2010 was held from March 9-12 in Singapore. It featured 434 exhibitors in 600,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Singapore Expo. The show typically draws between 17,000 and 18,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. — Thomas Russell

This youth bedroom set by Eastern Smart Furniture of Kuala Lumpur includes a bunk bed, desk and wardrobe, which retail at about $1,499.

SeniDaya Woods These cribs are made by SeniDaya Woods of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. They are made with a tropical wood called Meranti and will retail in the United States for between $180 and $360.

New Zealand Pine showed its Rainbow Collection of youth bedroom furniture at the International Furniture Fair Singapore. Made with solid New Zealand pine, it is manufactured in the Ho Chi Minh City area of Vietnam and features multicolored slats in cribs and headboards of twin beds.
