The New York International Gift Fair has been ranked among the top tradeshows in the country by two exposition industry trade publications, Trade Show Executive and Tradeshow Week.
The bi-annual NYIGF, which is owned and managed by GLM, hosts 2,800 exhibiting companies and around 31,000 attendees.
NYIGF was named one of Trade Show Executive's 2009 Gold 100 honorees, for being a “gold standard-setting” event within the $85 billion exposition industry. Alan Steel, GLM's executive vice president, accepted the honor on behalf of NYIGF at this year’s Gold 100 Awards & Summit event in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Tradeshow Week recently published its 2008 Tradeshow Week 200 list, which recognizes the largest tradeshows in the United States based on net square feet of paid exhibit space. The winter 2008 NYIGF ranked 28th on the list, with 607,062 net square feet, and the summer 2008 NYIGF ranked 30th, with 602,212 net square feet.
“NYIGF is a leader among gift and home industry events,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president, “And we are proud also to be recognized among the tradeshow industry's leading events.”
In 2010, NYIGF will run in the winter from Jan. 30 to Feb. 4 and in the summer from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. For information and registration information, go to: www.nyigf.com.
