Sorensen leaves Flexa
Danish executive will oversee division

SUFFOLK, Va. — Peder Sorensen has left his position as president of youth bedroom importer Flexa Furniture as the company transitions to a new business model.
Per Lykke Jensen, president of Danish parent company Flexa Group, will oversee the division while Claus Johnsen, U.S. production manager, handles the daily operations.
Earlier this year, Flexa sent out a notice saying it would no longer supply U.S. retailers except for its four Flexa branded stores and new ones it plans to open. When the business model changed, Sorensen’s responsibilities did as well. He said he eventually realized that the company had a reduced need for management, and that he wanted to seek new opportunities.
The following statement was issued by FLEXA the same day.
As FLEXA Group A/S in Hornsyld Denmark continues to restructure its operations in the USA, FLEXA and Peder Sorensen have mutually agreed to terminate their relationship effective immediately.
FLEXA thanks Peder Sorensen for his service and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavourers.
During this transition, Per Lykke Jensen will be acting General Manager working out of Denmark and Claus Johnsen will be running daily operations from our location in Suffolk, VA.
