Finalists in 15 categories chosen for annual Pinnacle Design Awards
Winners to be announced at the October High Point Market

NEW LONDON, N.C. — Finalists in 15 categories have been announced for this year’s 14th Annual ASFD Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards.
Winners in the annual American Society of Furniture Designers competition will be announced at the Pinnacle Awards banquet during the fall High Point Market.
“Despite the continued slump in furniture retail sales, ASFD and the Pinnacle Committee were encouraged by the breadth of this year’s entries,” said Steve Hodges, ASFD president, who presided over the judging to select the finalists, along with Christine Evans, executive director. Katie Hatch, ASFD vice president, serves as the 2009 Pinnacle Awards chairperson.
In the youth furniture category, the contenders are Artsycraftsy!, by Arlette Mulford, Jonah Staw and Arielle Eckstut for Powell Co.; Base Camp, by Mike Warren and Shannon Lookabill for Stanley Furniture; and Reflections, by Abigail Eaton and W. Dudley Moore Jr. for Lea Inds.

Editor-in-chief Ray Allegrezza will emcee at the Pinnacle Awards banquet, to be held in the International Home Furnishings Center ballroom on Monday evening, Oct. 19, during the fall High Point Market.
