AmericasMart plans to debut green showcase at July markets

AmericasMart is launching its first Green Product Showcase during this month's gift and rug markets. The showcase will include more than 300 products from a variety of categories such as area rugs, furniture, gift, decorative accessories, apparel and more.
The products, which span all price points and design styles, belong to manufacturers showing at the July shows.
Selection was based on use of environmentally-friendly products; bio-degradability; responsible use of sourcing and manufacturing, use of certified organic, pesticide-free low toxicity materials, use of renewable resources and other criteria.
The showcase will be open for buyers from July 11–16 on the 12th floor of Building 2, booth 1201. A grand opening and ribbon cutting is set for 4:30 p.m. July 13 and will include an appearance by Laura Turner Seydel, an ecological activist and the daughter of CNN founder Ted Turner.
Seydel has key roles with several green boards and foundations including the founding of the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Fund and serving as chairwoman of Captain Planet Foundation, a non-profit group that funds school-based environmental initiatives.
