Las Vegas Market offering sales reps incentives for attracting retailers

Accrued points can be redeemed for hotel stays, lunches

LAS VEGAS — What’s a new buyer worth? Ten points, according to Las Vegas Market officials.

That’s how much sales representatives can earn if they bring to Vegas buyers who haven’t been to the market before. Returning buyers fetch one point.

Points can be redeemed under the World Market Center’s new Rep Rewards program for items including hotel accommodations at the Golden Nugget or Monte Carlo for future markets and lunch vouchers at the Bella Vista Bistro on the 16th floor of WMC Building B.

Market officials say the program is a way to thank reps — and to make a final push to secure additional buyers for the Sept. 14-17 event.

“Our industry reps are the ambassadors for our market,” said Bob Maricich, president and CEO of the WMC. “Rep Rewards is a fun, far-reaching, rewarding program where everyone wins.”

Kathy Parks, executive director of
the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn., called the program “an exciting concept” that could help reps defray their market travel expenses. Each IHFRA member will receive an extra two points under the program.

To participate in the program, reps can start encouraging buyers to register online at www.lasvegasmarket.com. (The Rep Rewards program will only give points for buyers who haven’t already registered for market.)

When their buyers register, they will need to include the name and ID number of the rep that referred them to ensure the rep receives credit. IHFRA members can use either their membership number or Las Vegas Market Rep ID number.

Rep ID numbers can be found in e-mails sent from the WMC, or can be obtained by e-mailing RepRewards@lasvegasmarket.com. Reps must be registered for the September market to take part in the program. Points can be redeemed at market at a desk in the lobby of Building B.
