Fairport, N.Y. —
Italian-based crib and furniture manufacturer Pali is now producing a line of crib and toddler mattresses.
The collection is composed of five styles, three with coil units and two made of foam materials. A leading juvenile bedding manufacturer is producing the line, which will launch in infant specialty stores this month. Samples of the Pali mattresses were first shown to retailers at the September All Baby and Child Expo.
The three innerspring styles — Capriva, Sorrento and Venezia — are made with Luraflex, a patented cone-shaped spring system designed to maximize support across the mattress. The Capriva has a 200-coil innerspring, and the Sorrento and Venezia have 187 coils.
The Tuscanny and Napoli styles have a 5-inch, 100% virgin polyurethane foam core for support, and the Sorrento and Tuscanny styles are also designed for use in toddler beds. All of the mattresses feature an anti-microbial cover and brass rings for airflow. Retail price points range between $99 and $199.
Kevin Walker, director of Pali North America, said the mattress line is a natural complement to the company's nursery furniture. "The quality of the mattress is very important in the growth and development of a newborn through their toddler years," he said.
Pali will bring the new collection to the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Assn. show in May.
