SUMNER, Wash. – Following a decade of international growth, industry recognition, and numerous coveted awards for its booster and convertible juvenile car seats, Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products has hired two executives for key North American posts and has opened offices in Canada. An office was opened in Germany in September.
Sunshine Kids tapped juvenile industry sales and marketing specialist Scott Doerstling to serve as the company’s new vice president of sales for the U.S., and appointed juvenile industry sales representative Robert Hicks to the newly-created post of vice president of sales for Canada. The office in that country opened in January and is located in Waterloo, Ont.
“We’re delighted to have Scott and Robert as new members of the Sunshine Kids team,” said Brad Keller, president. “Scott brings with him both management and consulting experience with some of the best-known brand names in the business, so we’re confident he’ll help us take Sunshine Kids to the next level.”
“We believe Robert is the perfect individual to expand our presence and position in Canada over the next few years,” continued Keller. “Robert brings to our company and our valued customers a decade of solid experience in sales, marketing and customer service, including six years within the juvenile products industry.”
The newly-opened Sunshine Kids Canada office follows on the heels of its decision to establish a formal presence in Germany and enhance its presence in the European market. These two new offices are in addition to its U.K. office located in Tamworth and now open eight years, with Executive Director Ian Morley heading up that office. Experienced industry professional and newly-appointed Vice President of Sales Matthias Kirstein heads up Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products GmbH, based in Hallstadt.
“I personally believe Sunshine Kids makes the safest car seat in the industry,” said Robert Hicks, when asked about his motivation for joining Sunshine Kids. “So naturally I was interested in working more closely with the company. I believe the unique combination of innovative products and talented people is the reason why Sunshine Kids has witnessed such phenomenal growth over the last several years. For such a young company, their success in the market speaks to the quality, safety and convenience of the products they bring to market, and of the entire team that stands behind those products.”
“I look forward to moving ahead with Sunshine Kids’ next stage of growth,” Doerstling said. “They’re well-poised to compete in the business, and I look forward to introducing the innovation and convenience of our products to more retailers.”
We would love your feedback!
