Showtime set for July 10-13

Staff -- Kids Today, 6/30/2005 12:00:00 AM

HIGH POINT -- More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend Summer Showtime here July 10-13, according to the International Textile Market Assn., which organizes the semiannual fabric trade event.

Exhibiting companies will hail from at least 17 countries and include 231 of the ITMA's 259 members. There will be 14 new exhibitors from the United States, Italy, China, Brazil and Canada.

Several events will keep visitors entertained and informed between stops at showrooms. Events include a roundtable discussion of textile industry issues; Breakfast at Showtime, featuring a panel discussion on buying imported fabrics for high-end furniture lines; the Home Color and Trends Forecast presented by Cotton Inc.; and the popular Runway Fashion Show sponsored by Furniture/Today, ITMA and the ITMA Educational Foundation Sponsors.

Marketgoers can expect to find the Lindsay Street bridge (between High Street and Kivett Street) still under construction. Shuttles will operate throughout the downtown area, and Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. will run a shuttle between the parking lots north of the bridge and the main Showtime buildings.

Participants at the show also can ask for free legal assistance from attorney Richard Taffet, who will be in the sales office of the Suites at Market Square on July 11.
