Lone Star Baby & Kids looks to franchise

Frisco, Texas-based Lone Star Baby & Kids, owned by Michael Schaul, has announced it is launching an “aggressive expansion program through franchising.”
The retailer has approached Francorp, the world’s leader in franchise consulting, to assist it in the development of its franchise program.
“We recently decided franchising would be the best model to grow our business in a fast but disciplined manner,” Schaul said. “Lone Star Baby & Kids’ reputation for selection, honesty and service has helped it become a store where customers love to shop and feel comfortable recommending to their family and friends.”
Schaul and his wife, Karen, opened their first store in Dallas in 2001, a second in Arlington in 2002 and another in Frisco in 2004. They moved the Arlington store to a larger facility in North Richland Hills earlier this year and Schaul says the 18,000-square-foot showroom is on track to become the company’s flagship location.
Initially the Schaul’s stores were USA Baby franchise operations but Schaul ended that partnership in 2007 and successfully rebranded the stores to Lone Star Baby & Kids.
Lone Star’s staff has more than 100 years of combined experience assisting with nursery and teen furniture decisions, proper car seat and stroller selection and overall guidance in determining what is needed for children.
We would love your feedback!
