STANLEYTOWN, Va. - Adult and youth case goods resource Stanley Furniture has made several personnel changes aimed at strengthening its sales and marketing team.
Kevin Bowman, Stanley's vice president of sales since 2006, has been named senior vice president of sales and customer service. While he held the sales role previously, the customer service portion of the job is new in that there was not a single executive assigned to that role.
Before joining Stanley, Bowman had an 18-year career in retail, most recently at Thomasville Furniture Inds. In his new role, he reports to Stanley President and CEO Glenn Prillaman.
In a statement, Prillaman said Bowman is "excited to build a more customer-centric sales service team in his expanded role."
Ward O'Quinn, a sales representative for the company since 1996, has been named product manager for the company's Young America nursery and youth furniture line. He replaces Kevin Walker, who left the company about three months ago to pursue other interests.
Neil MacKenzie has been hired as director of marketing, a position that has been vacant for a few years. During that time, the company primarily outsourced its marketing functions to The Burris Agency of Greensboro, N.C.
MacKenzie was previously a key account manager at Burris and has handled various marketing and website initiatives for Stanley over the past two years. He helped oversee the marketing of the company's Coastal Living line and its relaunch of Young America.
While MacKenzie will run the marketing side of the business, the company will still work with Burris on various assignments.
O'Quinn and MacKenzie report to Prillaman.
The company has also named independent sales representatives Matt O'Hearn and Ted Mischkot as field sales

consultants for the eastern and western U.S. territories, respectively. Reporting to Bowman, they will work with retailers and also will help reps in those territories with sales and marketing tasks.
Prillaman said that in previous years, this function was handled by two regional sales managers out of Stanleytown, Va. and Greensboro, N.C. The difference now is that the company is moving the functions into the field.
O'Hearn has been a rep for Stanley since April 2006 and Mischkot has been a rep for Stanley since March 2003.
