Kitchen Named Editor of Kids Today

Greensboro , N.C. - Jane Kitchen has been named editor of Kids Today. Kitchen previously served as editor of the magazine from 2002 to 2006, and left the company following the birth of her son. She has spent the past four years continuing her career as a freelance writer, publishing articles in Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Playthings, home-furnishings. com, Small World, The Trend Curve, and Kids Today, as well as working on individual projects for various members of the juvenile and home furnishings industry.
"I couldn't be more thrilled to be back at Kids Today," said Kitchen. "I absolutely love the juvenile industry - the people, the products, the innovation - and I'm excited to both re-connect with old friends and also get to know the new players who have entered the scene since I've been gone. I'm also excited to re-enter the industry as a mom myself; I've spent the past four years raising my own babies (they're now 3 and 5) and using many of the products I wrote about for years. It's all given me a remarkable perspective on the products as well as new insight into the industry."
Kitchen will report directly to Vice President and Publishing Director Kevin Castellani. Castellani has also named Don Wingate as associate publisher of Kids Today. Former Editorial Director Jenny Heinzen-York will continue in her role as editor- in-chief of sister publication Home Accents Today.
"We wanted to make a real commitment to Kids Today and the juvenile industry," said Castellani. "And bringing Jane back was exactly the right way to do that. She is an extremely dedicated individual who really cares about and understands this industry, and I'm confident that will show in the pages of Kids Today as we move into 2011."
