Leawood, KS -- Christine Lien has joined gift manufacturer DEMDACO in the newly created position of vice president product development and sourcing - plush division. Lien, who previously served as senior VP of product development at Russ Berrie and as global brand director at Toys ‘R' Us, will lead the development of a plush line to be launched in January 2012.

"We're delighted to welcome Ms. Lien to our team and for the ability to manufacture items for the plush category. Her experience and leadership will be key to our success in this category," said Lance Hart, president of DEMDACO.

The company said its goal is to establish a brand that will be a leader in the plush category by offering competitively priced, trend-right and new to market items.

"We know that plush product is significant in the gift industry and it's a category that we must address because of its importance to our customers," said Hart.

While moving forward to establish her team, Lien is currently working on product development and sourcing. The company is developing product in both traditional and trend categories.

"The new brand will include realistic animals, teddy bears, whimsical characters, baby, holiday and fashion forward items," said Lien. "I'm excited to join the DEMDACO team and am certain this new line of product will surprise and delight our customers."
