Educational furniture maker British Thornton launches anti-bacterial line for nurseries

KEIGHLEY, England — British Thornton, a producer of educational and youth furniture based in Keighley, England, has launched a line of nursery furniture that features a child-friendly anti-bacterial coating, according to a recent report from Cabinet Maker Furniture Industry News.

The surfaces of the new pieces in the Trudy line are treated with a coating that helps prevent bacteria from living on the surface of panels, helping to significantly reduce the bacterial count found on the furniture, according to the report.

“We were very keen to expand our offering to include a suite of products specifically designed for nursery children,” said Gerard Toplass, CEO of British Thornton. “The quality of the craftsmanship is second to none, and we feel this will really fit with what nursery managers are currently looking for.”

Established in 1967, British Thornton first launched its Trudy line in 2008.
