September 13, 2017,
This four-drawer case piece is among those recalled by Target due to a potential tip-over hazard.
The company has recalled 175,000 of the units in the U.S. and another 3,000 sold in Canada.
The recall involves the Room Essentials 4-Drawer dressers sold in three colors. The dressers measure 41 7/8 inches tall by 31 ½ inches wide by 15 11/16 inches deep. The model number 249-05-0103 (black), 249-05-0106 (espresso) or 249-0500109 (maple) is printed on the product’s packaging.
Made in Denmark, the units were sold at Target stores nationwide and at www.target.com from January 2013 through April 2016 for about $118.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised consumers to immediately stop using any recalled dresser not anchored to the wall and put in in an area that children cannot access. Consumers also have been advised to return the items to any Target store for a full refund.
In a statement Target spokesperson said that "Target is committed to providing high-quality and safe products for our guests." The company also is aiming to make the return process as simple as possible, noting that no receipt or proof of purchase is necessary to return a recalled Target-branded product to a Target store.
