Series is among the latest additions to the Kids & Family selection on the streaming service

MADRID, Spain – Award-winning preschool series Pocoyo has debuted on Amazon Prime Video through Amazon’s Video Direct self-publishing service, the companies announced. Produced by Madrid-based Zinkia, it is one of the latest additions to the streaming service’s Kids & Family selection.

The adventures depicted in the program use colors shapes and music as a backdrop to the themes of respect, tolerance and friendship conveyed in the series.

The development occurs as Zinkia continues to roll out an ambitious international expansion for the Pocoyo brand online. The Pocoyo catalog includes four seasons with a total of 208 episodes as well as a short film and other exclusive content.

Since its creation more than 10 years ago, it has received more than 30 audiovisual industry awards, including the Annecy Cristal and the British Academy BAFTA for Best Animation series.

“As a series, Pocoyo is extremely well-suited to the characteristics of on-demand video platforms thanks to its quality content and its huge appeal to young audiences worldwide,” said Alberto Delgado, Zinkia CEO.

I'm Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
