Dana French -- Kids Today, 9/1/2012 2:00:00 AM
Half of mothers love to shop for infant furniture and another 21% like to. Reasons why include that it's relaxing, is fun to do and it makes them feel good. The designing and redecorating aspect of shopping is also appealing to many moms as they strive to create a certain look for their children's space.
As a 26-year-old mom from North Carolina explains, "I love the fact that I'm putting together something for my child." A 29-year-old from Virginia puts it this way, "There's so much to look at and choose from. It's fun to see all the stuff out there!" And, a 36-year-old from Illinois wonders, "Who doesn't love shopping and re-decorating?"
Those are some of the key findings from a survey of moms conducted by Kids Today and Newton, Mass.-based Mom Central Consulting. In May, Kids Today asked Mom Central's proprietary panel questions about infant furniture and shopping. More than seven hundred answered our exclusive survey.
