Dallas Market Center is launching a juried trade event for baby gifts and gadgets that will debut in March in conjunction with the Dallas KidsWorld Market.
The new section is called PBJ, which stands for Play.Baby.Juvenile. It will join the Dallas KidsWorld Market, which has 200,000 square feet on the eighth floor in the Dallas Market Center and offers a variety of products for specialty stores including children's apparel, toys, textiles, furniture, bedding, accessories, book and educational gifts.
"We see a tremendous growth opportunity in the gifts and gadgets market," said Bill Winsor, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. "As specialty stores continue to expand their product mix, we can deliver a comprehensive marketplace fulfilling every retail need."
The PBJ exhibitor mix will include both established manufacturers as well as new companies. The Dallas Market Center visual merchandising team is designing the PBJ show space, which will be "modern, fun and inspirational," according to a new release. Educational seminars, networking opportunities and other special events are being planned to take place in the PBJ area.
"Our approach to the event is to create an energetic temporary marketplace that is similar to European exhibitions," said Amber Williams, visual director for Dallas Market Center. "We will keep a playful mood while integrating sophisticated design elements and displays."
PBJ is set for March 21-22, and the Dallas KidsWorld Market will run March 18-21.
