Held at the same time as the China Toy Expo and Brand Licensing Hall, the three events had 1,014 total exhibitors, 3,840 booths and 83,000 square meters of exhibit space, up 35% from last year. More than 65,780 buyers from about 110 countries and regions participated in the three-day events.
China Kids Expo organizers say the trade fair provides buyers a unique channel to meet export-ready juvenile products manufacturers. For 2012, organizers said that more than 90% of the exhibitors were export-ready manufacturers who provide certificated products and are able to satisfy buyers various demands. Large and medium-sized manufacturers from the leading infant stroller and car seat production regions of Kunshan, Ningbo, Zhongshan and Cixi were among those in attendance.
International buyers at the event increased 59% over last year, with Korea, India, Poland, Turkey, Brazil and the United States all represented. Buyers scheduled to visit the fair included Auchan, Carrefour, GIFI, Home Retail Group, Kmart, Metro, Parkson and Wal-Mart.
Chinese domestic visitors came from more than 400 major cities, representing not only importers and exporters, regional distributors and wholesalers, but also shopping malls, chain stores and specialty retailers in China.
In 2012, the fair attracted 60% more international baby products brands from more than 20 countries and regions over last year. New exhibitors included ABC Design, Baby Auto, Baby Dan, Combi, Cybex, Eurokids, Foppapedretti, Micro, Pouch, Richell and Stokke.
The 2012 China Kids Expo was co-hosted by the China Toy & Juvenile Products Assn. and Koelnmesse. Rooted in China Toy Expo's 10-year history, the China Kids Expo was held as an independent show for the first time in 2011 with significant success. At the end of 2011, the association reached an agreement with Koelnmesse, organizer of the German trade fair Kind+Jugend, to co-host the event.
Next year's China Kids Expo will run from Oct. 15-17.
