The toy is the X-Rider car, a red plastic scooter with a yellow handlebar and seat and two blue stickers that resemble headlights. The car was sold at Target and other retailers for $25 between January 2012 and August 2012.

Children use their feet to propel the car. Riders who lean too far forward can go over the handlebar and fall to the ground. Step2 had received four reports of such incidents, including one that resulted in bumps on the head and another resulting in a minor concussion and cuts to the gums and lips.

Consumers should take the toy away and contact Step2 at (866) 860-1887 or www.step2.com to receive a free replacement item.
