"Several years ago we started exploring expansion in Europe, and since then our growth has exploded," said Joe Shamie, president of Delta Children's Products.
Delta will introduce solid wood toddler furniture into the European market, and is also expanding its licensing deals in Europe. The company's agreement with Disney now includes all European territories, extending to Andorra, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia.
This comes on the heels of another announcement that Delta has secured a licensing agreement with Sanrio to manufacture Hello Kitty furniture for European retailers. Products include beds, toy organizers, toy boxes, vanities and table and chair sets.
Delta has also entered into the Asian market for the first time, shipping licensed Disney product to China this quarter. Products include Delta's current toddler line available in the U.S., including Cars, Mickey Mouse, Disney Princess and Winnie the Pooh. Nursery offerings include Disney Princess, Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh cribs, changing tables and dressers
The recent business boom has led Delta to expand its sales force and open a warehouse in Antwerp, Belgium, to accommodate the growth. The half a million cubic foot warehouse has potential to expand for future growth.
