The Alone Zone has a seating area for a child on one side with a shelf at the top. The reverse side has four shelves for books or other belonging. The piece, which is made in the U.S. and is GreenGuard certified, is made of birch plywood with a natural UV finish and has locking casters. The retail is $385.
"We conceived the Alone Zone to fulfill the need by early learning centers and institutional childcares to have a quiet area for children," said David Stabler, president of Whitney Brothers. "But in keeping with our mission to develop unique and innovative products, we infused the product with our signature design ethos that sets our brand apart."
Brian Vaillancourt, director of sales and marketing, said that in addition to school furniture and institutional child care furniture dealers, Whitney Bros.' core group of targeted retailers include specialty juvenile furniture stores as well as specialty toy stores.
