LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards accepting entries

The International Licensing Industry Merchandiser's Assn. is now accepting submissions for its annual International Licensing Excellence Awards, which will be presented at the licensing show in June.

The awards program is designed to honor brands, products, companies and promotions that have demonstrated superior performance in the in the licensing industry, LIMA said in a news release, and entries should demonstrate "cutting-edge innovation and exceptional creativity" for 2012.

Awards will be presented in seven categories: Art; Character/Toy Brand; Corporate Brand; Film, Television, Celebrity or Entertainment; Licensed Promotion, Retailer of the Year; and Sports. The awards committee will also choose nominees for the License of Year award, which goes to the property that has made a significant impact on the licensing community at retail and in the general marketplace, LIMA said.

Submission forms can be found here on the LIMA website. The deadline is March 1.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on opening night, June 18, of the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas. The show runs June 18-20.
