New York — CopCorp Licensing has been appointed to manage the licensing program for Jim Benton's newest property, J.K. Monster.
J.K. Monster is a new boys' property, and the cast includes a grumpy ogre, a happy-and-sad two-headed giant, a grinning dragon, and a host of other quirky characters paired with fun phrases such as "Get Ogre It," "Okay I'm A Monster So What," and "Oh Gnome You Didn't."
"Jim Benton's J.K. Monster taps into the universal fascination that kids — and so many adults — have with monsters," said Carole Postal, president of CopCorp Licensing. "As an agency, the thing that excites us most is that J.K. Monster gives manufacturers and retailers the opportunity to launch a brand new monster genre that, in addition to themes likes sports and trucks, will appeal to little boys and their parents."
Basic Fun is already signed up to manufacture J.K. Monster plush dolls, bean bag dolls, cell phone charms and key chains, and Blackjack will be making T-shirts for children and adults.
CopCorp is also actively seeking additional licensees in categories ranging from stickers and stationery to room décor.
