Gund adds Max & Ruby license, expands Dora the Explorer line

Edison, N.J. — Plush manufacturer Gund has added the Max & Ruby property and expanded its Dora the Explorer license under an agreement with Nick Jr.
The Gund Max & Ruby collection features a plush Max dressed in his blue overalls and striped shirt and plush Ruby wearing a yellow dress. Max is available in two sizes, 5.75 and 9 inches, and will retail for $11 and $18. Ruby is also available in two sizes, 7 and 10 inches, and will retail for $14 and $24.
Other products include Max & Ruby Zip Clips, which can be clipped to backpacks or other items and will retail for $9. The Ruby Purse Peeker features a clear front opening from where a plush Ruby looks out. The purse has a retail price point of $15. For now, Gund is concentrating on the current lineup, but the company plans to consider expanding the property next year.
"Our agreement with Nickelodeon is an example of how Gund continues to be ahead of the curve in bringing to market innovative new products," said Jim Madonna, president of Gund. "Gund's new Dora the Explorer and Max & Ruby characters tie together perfectly with what kids today are interested in …"
Gund is expanding the Dora property by introducing the Dora the Explorer Fairytale Adventure line. The plush collection includes several new Dora dolls and a play set.
Gund's Ruby and Max plush dolls retail between $11 and $24 each.
