Ragazzi launches new brand

Las Vegas — Juvenile case goods manufacturer Ragazzi launched a new, separate brand here at the ABC Expo last month, an import group dubbed Bambino Reale and designed to hit lower price points than traditional Ragazzi furniture.
"Bambino Reale was created to go after a totally different market," said Mitchell Schwartz, marketing director for Ragazzi. "We wanted to offer an import like it's never been seen before."
The first Bambino Reale collection, called Primero, includes cribs, twin beds, bunks and cases made of pine and available in Snowdrift, Cherry, Honey, Caramella and antique white finishes.
"The quality of Bambino's case goods separates it from everyone else — the quality is far superior," Schwartz said.
Convertible cribs are set to retail between $499 and $599 — about 20% lower than Ragazzi's convertibles — and bunks will sell for $699.
The line is sourced in Chile and stocked in Ragazzi's Montreal warehouse, so Schwartz said the company will be able to maintain the delivery service people have come to expect from Ragazzi. The Bambino Reale sets are shipping now and will be fully stocked at the Montreal warehouse by the end of November.
Schwartz said the company had a great reception to the new line. A second group is planned for January, and by next year's ABC Expo, the company will have four Bambino Reale sets.
