THT launches kids collection

Las Vegas — THT Designs, maker of giftware and home accents, introduced its first children's line at the ABC Expo here last month.
The new collection is targeted toward babies and younger children and features items such as lamps, frames, pillows and wall art. According to THT Designs President Jerry Pape, the move into the juvenile arena was a natural given the company's success with its other gift and accents lines.
"We take great pride in our design capabilities but had always centered our attention on products for the traditional gathering spaces such as kitchen and family room," Pape said. "Children's décor was a natural extension."
The children's line is composed of three groups — Ladybug Love, Vintage Baby and Fairy Princess. The Ladybug Love group started shipping in July. The other two groups are scheduled to ship in January 2005. Price points range from $9.95 to $49.95, and the collection is being sold in specialty stores.
A fourth group aimed at young boys is in development and should ship sometime next year, said Bob Toth, chief marketing officer at THT Designs.
THT Designs of Omaha, Neb., plans to show the children's collection at the same shows as its three other lines, including the Atlanta and Dallas gift markets.
THT Designs' children's line includes room accessories such as frames, wall art and lamps.
