Dallas— Bordeaux Partners has named Manual Woodworkers & Weavers a licensee for its popular Emily property.
Under the deal, signed at the Licensing Show in June, MWW will produce a line of home-décor items and accessories featuring the free-spirited monkey and star of the book, "Emily Goes Wild."
The collection includes throws, pillows, blankets, wall hangings, totes, foot stools, frames, luggage, umbrellas, ceramic tea sets and more. Retail prices will range from $10 to $100.
The Hendersonville, N.C.-based textile company plans to introduce the collection at gift shows in January. It will begin taking orders in July, and products should be available at retail in fall 2006. The lines will be distributed to mid-tier, specialty and department stores.
"MWW is the perfect partner for this range of merchandise," said Joan Packard Luks, managing partner of The Serenata Group, the licensing agent for the Emily property. "They are recognized worldwide for their high quality and wonderful designs."
North American Bear Co. already has signed on to produce a line of plush dolls, muffs, scarves and bags that will be released this fall. Small Miracles is making a collection of costumes and accessories that will allow girls to dress like the fashionable primate.
Bordeaux Partners and The Serenata Group are in talks with several manufacturers about licensing opportunities in other categories.
Manual Woodworkers & Weavers' licensed line of Emily products will hit retail shelves in fall 2006.
