London— United Kingdom-based Spellbound Entertainment Ltd. has expanded its licensing agreement with Fisher-Price to increase the international exposure of its Koala Brothers property.
East Aurora, N.Y.-based Fisher-Price will develop, produce and distribute several new Koala Brothers toys, including plush, games, preschool plastic toys and electronic learning-based toys. The agreement covers the United Kingdom, France, Scandinavia, Poland, Australia and New Zealand, and is in addition to Fisher-Price's North American and Latin American licensing rights.
The Koala Brothers property is aimed at preschoolers and features characters Frank and Buster, two good-natured koala bears in the Australian Outback whose motto is, "We're here to help." The animated TV show airs on Playhouse Disney, and its goal is to teach kids the value of respect, kindness and emotional support.
Fisher-Price will launch five products from the line next spring and summer. They are the Helping Buddies assortment of miniature plastic figures and vehicles; Outback Buddies, mini plush characters; a talking plush bear that comes with a DVD; a plush bear that sings and dances; and a play set with the Koala Brothers' airplane.
"With its lovable male lead characters and positive emotional messages, The Koala Brothers is exactly the kind of new preschool property the market needs," said Deborah Batten of Fisher-Price Brands.
