Bellevue, Wash.— After 44 years in the same location, children's independent specialty store Merry Go Round has moved to a new 12,000-square-foot store.
"We've been searching for six years for the right spot," said Bob Pressey, who owns the store with his wife, Molly Brown Pressey. The couple bought the store from Molly's father in 1999.
The Presseys celebrated the August move with a cocktail party that drew about 50 attendees, including retailers Ken and April Goore of Goores for Kids, Mitchell Schwartz of furniture manufacturer Ragazzi and Pam Brown of Combi.
The Presseys have changed the store's logo to reflect Merry Go Round's future vision, and the couple says they look forward to serving a new generation of customers at the new location.
Merry Go Round is sporting an updated logo that reflects its future, said owners Bob and Molly Brown Pressey.
The new showroom is about 5,000 square feet bigger than the old location.
