Mahway, N.J.— Bedding textiles manufacturer Sleeping Partners plans to produce bedding, bedding accessories and fabric based on the storybook character Maisy.
RJM Licensing represents the Maisy property, which focuses on the adventures on Maisy, a little mouse, and is geared toward infants through preschoolers. Since the book series by Lucy Cousins debuted 15 years ago, more than 100 titles have been published and about 21 million copies sold. An animated series airs twice a day on the Noggin TV network in the United States.
Sleeping Partners' collection will include bed linens and accessories, which will range in price from $19.95 to $149.95 for a full set. The New York-based manufacturer also will produce over-the-counter fabric, most likely fleece, that features Maisy. The fabric will retail for about $9.95 per yard.
The collection is scheduled to launch in the spring. Sleeping Partners plans to display the line, along with other licensed Maisy products such as plush from Yottoy, at the trade shows it typically attends, including the All Baby and Child Expo, Juvenile Products Manufacturers Assn. show, the High Point furniture markets and some New York gift shows.
The initial launch targets department stores and specialty shops.
"My own children were enchanted by Maisy and her friends, the lessons they learned together, and the adventures they shared. I am thrilled to create new product for these colorful characters," said Salvo Stock, president of Sleeping Partners.
Rob Mejia, president of RJM Licensing, said, "Sleeping Partners impressed my client with their attention to detail and the quality of their embroideries. My client felt that Sleeping Partners would make some very creative, colorful and beautiful Maisy bedding and accessories."
Sleeping Partners' other brands include Tadpole Basics, Spoon, Spice Collection and Ruff Life.
Sleeping Partners' bedding starring Maisy will ship in the spring.
