Custom orders amaze Pine Creek

Las Vegas— Customers keep surprising Pine Creek Bedding, coming up with new variations of made-to-order items they want in their bedrooms.
The Aurora, Colo.-based manufacturer offers custom bedding, including fabrics of sheers, chenille, velour and cotton.
While some retailers let their own customers thumb through the Pine Creek catalog and swatches to pick their style, many other stores have design teams that prefer to coordinate the fabrics themselves.
"Each week when we ship out our orders, we are amazed at how using different fabrics makes our bedding look so different," said Daphne Schultz, customer service representative.
Schultz pointed out one fabric that she didn't even realize had lavender in it until customers started pairing it with all-lavender fabric.
Big sellers include toiles, dots, vintage prints, and bright colors like lime, fuchsia and orange.
Several lines debuted at the ABC Expo, including Ryan, which mixes blue and brown solids and stripes, and Big Top, a circus-inspired look of vintage prints and light green solids.
"People have more sophisticated bedding tastes now," Schultz said.
