NINFRA names de Castro executive director

Staff -- Kids Today, 10/1/2005

San Antonio— The National Independent Nursery Furniture Retailer's Assn. board of directors has named Rafael de Castro executive director of the trade group.

In his new role, de Castro will be responsible for the daily operation of NINFRA, including responsibilities in the areas of marketing, advertising, product and program negotiation, vendor and member relations and administration.

De Castro has served as a marketing consultant to NINFRA for the past year and began his retail career in 1989 working for family-owned businesses Cullen's Babyland and Capitol Cyclery. He has extensive experience in both the toy and juvenile products industries as both a buyer and industry advocate.

After a transition period, de Castro will replace Larry Schur, who previously was named full-time executive director of All Baby & Child Inc. and the ABC Expo.
