Vermont Precision launches import division with two groups

Morrisville Vt.— Domestic youth bedroom manufacturer Vermont Precision Woodworks has launched a new import division, dubbed Bolton Furniture Co. Vermont Precision's Essex collection and its new Wakefield collection both fall under the Bolton Furniture umbrella.
"(The Bolton Collection) provides the value of an import but with the expertise of a domestic manufacturer," said Ted Weber, sales and marketing manager.
The Essex collection is a Shaker-style group in maple, available in white and natural, and features five bed styles, including twin, bunk and a new study loft.
The Wakefield collection, first introduced at the All Baby and Child Expo in September, is a birch group with framed drawer fronts, and is also available in white or natural. Beds in the Wakefield collection include a panel bed and a mission bed, and both beds are available in twin, bunk, study loft and sleep/study/storage loft systems.
Twin beds in the Bolton group will start at $259, bunks at $619 and lofts at $799.
Additionally, the company is bringing in some unfinished pieces so that for a $50 additional charge (or $150 for a bunk), any of the company's 17 domestic colors can be used. This provides an option for retailers to sell the company's import beds with domestic cases and match the finish, said Weber, a move already practiced by some retailers and one he hopes will also drive sales of the domestic product.
The Essex collection, which has been in stock for the past two years, is available for immediate shipment, and price points have been reduced from 15% to 30% because of negotiated cost reductions.
The Wakefield collection will be available for shipping in January.
Wakefield is one of two collections in the Bolton division.
