Orlando, Fla.— After taking over the Myca plant in Quebec late last year, Demare Gliders made its juvenile trade show debut here at the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Assn. show last month. Demare is taking over where now-defunct Relax-R Gliders left off. Demare bought the Myca plant, which used to manufacturer the metal glider frame for Relax-R, as well as an upholstery plant in Quebec, so that the company now controls both the manufacturing and distribution of the gliders.
Demare showed 12 new juvenile designs, including a new adjustable arm model that allows parents to move the chair's arms up or down to several heights to make feeding baby more comfortable. The adjustable arm model, number 875, will retail for $549 with an ottoman.
The company is manufacturing 30 models of gliders in total, including some adult selections, as well as traditional metal gliders and fully upholstered looks. More than 60 fabric choices are available.
