New York — BBC Worldwide announced two promotions during the Licensing Show here last month.
Helen McAleer was named deputy managing director of Children's BBC Worldwide. McAleer will be responsible for the global exploitation of children's brands through acquisition, investment, development and the license of intellectual property.
As part of the company's strategy to increase the children's business in North America, Susanna Pollack has been promoted to vice president, Business Development Children's. Pollack is based in New York and will be responsible for driving and developing cross-media strategy for children's business. She will report to McAleer.
"With key children's properties launching on major U.S. channels in 2005, such as 'Little Robots' on Cartoon Network and 'Charlie and Lola' on Disney, we are at a crucial point in developing our children's business in North America," McAleer said.
