Mahway, N.J.— The Copyrights Group has chosen RJM Licensing to run the U.S. and Canadian licensing program for its storybook property Spot.
Eric Hill created the puppy character Spot and published his first book, "Where's Spot?" in 1980. The Spot series now has about 100 titles in print.
RJM Licensing, which is targeting the program to products for children between the ages of 1 and 4 years, is seeking licensees in the categories of plush/toys, feeding products, gift sets, stationery, apparel, blankets, bedding and accessories.
"As specialists in the preschool and classic book market, Spot fits perfectly with our portfolio," said Rob Mejia, president of RJM Licensing. "He will add a sense of fun and a bit of mischief to the mix. Above all, we plan to emphasize Spot's play value in any licensed product."
RJM Licensing is seeking licensees in several categories including plush and apparel.
